An exemplary renovation of a façade
Located in the 14th arrondissement, opposite Montparnasse station, in a building dating from the Fifties (former postal sorting office), the new head office of the Post Office is a fine example of the suitability of KAWNEER products for renovation.

SEARCHING FOR LIGHT
In the beginning, the main façade, on the rue de Vaugirard, extended on the vertical, was flanked with concrete shells clad in stone.

The façade was somewhat heavy and unoriginal and the DTACC architect’s office (Paris), who were in charge of the project, wanted to soften the lines in order to increase the amount of light inside the building and to break the existing verticality.

To allow more light to enter, whilst also controlling the solar gains, the façade was given a Kawneer aluminium curtain wall structure with embedded frames (embedded glazing), and sunshades.
